고용보험법은 고용보험의 시행을 통하여 실업을 예방하기 위한 것이다.

The Employment Insurance Act is to prevent unemployment through the enforcement

of employment insurance.

그리고 근로자가 실업한 경우에 생활에 필요한 급여를 실시하여 근로자의 생활안정과 구직

활동을 촉진한다.

In addition, when a worker is unemployed, wages necessary for life are provided

to promote the stability of life and job search activities.

이 법에서 "피보험자"란 "보험료징수법"에 따라 보험에 가입되거나 가입된 것으로 보는

근로자이다.

In this law, “insured” refers to an employee who is insured or deemed to have

been insured under the “Insurance Premium Collection Act”.

"이직 離職"이란 피보험자와 사업주 사이의 고용관계가 끝나게 되는 것을 말한다.

"Turnover" means the end of the employment relationship between the insured and

the employer.

"실업"이란 근로의 의사와 능력이 있음에도 불구하고 취업하지 못한 상태에 있는 것을 말한다.

"Unemployment" refers to being in a state of being unemployed despite the

willingness and ability to work.

"실업의 인정"이란 직업안정기관의 장이 수급자격자가 실업한 상태에서 적극적으로

직업을 구하기 위하여 노력하고 있다고 인정하는 것을 말한다.

The term "recognition of unemployment" means that the head of a job security

agency recognizes that a qualified recipient is actively trying to find a job

while unemployed.

"보수"란 소득세법에 따른 근로소득에서 대통령령으로 정하는 금품을 뺀 금액을 말한다.

The term "reward" means the amount obtained by subtracting money and

goods prescribed by Presidential Decree from earned income under the Income Tax Act.

다만, 휴직이나 그 밖에 이와 비슷한 상태에 있는 기간 중에 사업주 외의 자로부터

지급받는 금품 중 고용노동부장관이 정하여 고시하는 금품은 보수로 본다.

However, among the money and goods paid by a person other than the employer

during a period of leave of absence or other similar conditions, money and

goods determined and notified by the Minister of Employment and Labor shall be

deemed remuneration.

"일용근로자"란 1개월 미만 동안 고용되는 사람을 말한다.

"Daily worker" means a person who is employed for less than one month.
